Terror of the sublime
Current new and old work both share a similar contrast of fluidity with geometric elements which I am now presenting through the absence of and physical space, introducing installational techniques within my practice. The geometric shapes, lines and spaces represent structure and control of the creators hand, purposeful and intentional.
My contrasting dark and light palette, raw and intense playing with light as paint. Creates a juxtaposition within the body of work. The rawness of my last body of work presented a playful engery and created an atherial viewing expirence highlighting ideals of the sublime. The darkness of my new colour palette was in complete contrast to previous work and was an experimental attempt to convey new ideas of not creation or Gensis but of destruction and revelation, touching on the theory of terror leading to the sublime.
